KiteTV is built on a strict privacy-first foundation. We do NOT serve third-party ads, we do NOT sell family viewing habits to data brokers, and we comply with children's online privacy standards (COPPA & GDPR-K).

1. Information We Collect

To provide launcher functionality and parental screen-time management, KiteTV collects minimal operational data:

Account Information: Your email address when logging into the Parent Web Companion via Magic OTP.
Device Identifiers: A randomly generated 9-digit pairing code and anonymous device hardware identifier to link your TV with your parent account.
Foreground Application Telemetry: The currently active app package name (e.g., YouTube, Netflix, HDMI input) to display live active badges and calculate screen quotas.
Payment Details: Processed directly and securely through our PCI-DSS compliant payment gateway (Razorpay). KiteTV never stores credit card numbers or banking passwords.

2. How We Use Information

We use the collected information exclusively to:

Transmit real-time pause, freeze, and intercom commands between your phone and enrolled TVs.
Generate weekly Sunday screen-time summaries delivered directly to your registered email.
Enforce parent-configured bedtime schedules and app usage quotas.
Prevent unauthorized access via 5-key D-Pad directional passcodes.

3. Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K Compliance)

KiteTV is designed to be safe for family living rooms. The TV launcher app operates without collecting personal data from children. No biometric, voice, or facial recognition data is captured or processed.

4. Data Storage & Security

All communication between the Android TV launcher, backend WebSocket relays, and the Parent Companion web app is encrypted using industry-standard TLS/SSL (WSS and HTTPS). Authentication tokens are securely hashed and stored with time-limited validity.

5. Account Deletion & Data Rights

You have full control over your data. You may request immediate deletion of your account, paired device records, and command logs at any time by visiting our public Account Deletion Page or emailing [email protected].
